AIME was one of the
first national engineering societies established in the United States, and along with ASCE
(civil), ASME (mechanical), IEEE (electrical), and AIChE (chemical), it is
known as an Engineering Founder Society. Together, the Founder Societies
formed the United Engineering Trustees which operated the United
Engineering Center and the Engineering Foundation. With the sale of the
United Engineering Center in 1998, the United Engineering Trustees, Inc.
has been reorganized as the
United Engineering Foundation, Inc.

American Institute of Chemical Engineers
