Hossein Kazemi (SPE)

In recognition of distinguished service in the advancement of petroleum engineering technology through written, oral, and volunteer efforts.

Hossein Kazemi is the Manager of Production Technology at Marathon Oil Company's Petroleum Technology Center in Littleton, CO. He holds BS and PhD degrees in petroleum engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a Distinguished Member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and has received the SPE Henry Mattson Technical Service Award, the SPE John Franklin Carll Award, and the SPE Distinguished Technical Service Award.

Since graduation from the University of Texas, he has been involved in numerous research and management responsibilities in production research and applications. Dr. Kazemi has authored or coauthored more than 40 technical papers on petroleum engineering topics in pressure transient testing and reservoir simulation. He is a registered professional engineer in Colorado, and adjunct professor of petroleum engineering at the Colorado School of Mines, and a member of the journal editorial board of Transport in Porous Media and In Situ. He was the executive editor of the SPE journal Formation Evaluation during 1986-1987.
