Paul Alain Bailly (SME)

Paul A. Bailly is Chairman of Castle Group, Inc., successor to Fulcrum Management, Inc., a company he organized in 1984, which manages two venture capital partnerships focused on precious metals mines at the development stage. From 1968 to 1983 he was President of Occidental Minerals Corporation. the Minerals Division of Occidental Petroleum; and from 1952 through 1967 he was with Bear Creek Mining Company, exploration subsidiary of Kennecott Copper, where he started as a Field Geologist and became President in 1960.

Dr. Bailly received a Geological Engineering degree from Nancy University, France, in 1948. He did graduate work at Yale University in 1949, and received a Ph.0 in Economic Geology from Stanford University in 1951 . He 1s a Fellow of the Geological Society of America, was its President in 1983, and is a Trustee of the Geological Society of America Foundation. He was President of the Society of Economic Geologists 1n 1981. In 1975 he was an SME Krumb Lecturer and received the Jackling Award in 1979. He is a Director of the Mineral Information Institute and of six mining companies.
